keep in touch program.

Hello nice friends!

Mental health is something I’m super passionate about. I've worked & volunteered in multiple different areas of mental health.

Something that is SO AMAZING that I’ve been doing lately is called the Keep in Touch program. (This is in Medicine Hat). It’s a program that provides connection and support for those feeling isolated or alone, especially as a result of the pandemic. What happens is, you go through an interview with a staff member through Canadian Mental Health, and if successful, they set you up with a buddy. You then call them a couple times a week to check in, chat, all the things.

The person I’ve been matched with has brought so much happiness and joy to my life. They are so unbelievably thankful to have somebody to talk to. Our conversations have ranged from 25 minutes to 2 hours!!!!! It’s so important for people to feel important. My match has told me multiple times how much they look forward to these chats.

Keep in mind you can also become a program participant if you are feeling lonely, or just want someone to chat with!

If you want to be involved as a volunteer or participant call the CMHA main office at 403-504-1811 or email kitprogram@cmha-aser.ca.

love you ++!
